National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT)
Replacing the former Golden Falcon Junior Leader Training program is the new National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT). With a completely new syllabus, the course will focus on training all youth leaders in the Troop or Crew. This program is designed that each Scout or Venturer who successfully completes the course will be able to use the skills learned in all areas of their lives, including school, church, sports, and in the business world.
Each participant must be at least 13 years old and a First Class Scout (or equivalent for Venturers).
Don’t wait, now is the time to register for the 2012 National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT)! As of 2012 both PA Dutch Weeklong and 2-Weekend NYLT courses are COED! Weeklong NYLT will be at Camp Bashore, June 10-16, 2012 and 2-Weekend NYLT will be at Camp Mack, August 10-12 and 17-20, 2012. Cost for each course is $290. Both courses are open to eligible Boy Scouts, Sea Scouts, Varsity & Venturing Scouts. Registration forms are on council web site and have been sent to unit leaders. This valuable course will give your youth skills that they can use in their daily life as well as in their units. Due to the value of the NYLT program, our region challenged all units to ensure that all top youth leaders are NYLT trained!
Participants can either register for the NYLT-Reg-Form-WEEK-2012-1-final or the NYLT-Reg-Form-WEEKEND-2012-1-final.

If a Scout is attending summer camp at Bashore Scout Reservation in 2012 as well as EITHER 2012 NYLT course, the Scout will receive the 2nd week of camp $50.00 discount!
National Advanced Youth Leadership Experience
Attention leaders of NYLT graduates and future grads!
Scouts and Venturers who have completed the council NYLT program have met one of the requirements for NAYLE (National Advanced Youth Leadership Experience). The NAYLE program is offered at Philmont Scout Range in Cimmaron, NM over multiple weeks every summer and 2012 will be the second year for regional NAYLE programs. Our region’s NAYLE Course is being held at Camp Onteora of Theodore Roosevelt Council, August 5-10, 2012. Youth Leadership Training Continuum
NYLT and NAYLE are only part of the continual training youth leaders receive through participation in the Boy Scouts of America. The most important leadership training they receive takes place through continual coaching and mentoring by the unit leader.
