The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has changed its provider for FBI fingerprint-based background checks, as of November 28, 2017.

Under PA law, all registered adult volunteers in Scouting in PA are required to provide three PA-mandated background clearances prior to beginning their volunteer service, including either the FBI Fingerprint Based Criminal History Clearance (for those who have not lived in Pennsylvania for at least the past ten consecutive years) or the Pennsylvania Dutch Council Disclosure Statement Application for Volunteers(for those who have lived in Pennsylvania for at least the past ten consecutive years.)

The previous FBI fingerprint-based background check vendor, Cogent, will no longer be providing the FBI fingerprinting on-line services for the PA state clearance requirements. The new provider is IDEMIA and their locations are called IndentoGO Centers. Volunteers needing to obtain the FBI fingerprint-based background check should begin the process by visiting Idemia’s website using this link –  www.identogo.com/locations/pennsylvania – and then follow the steps below.

  1. Click on “Digital Fingerprinting,” box.
  2. Enter Service Code 1KG6ZJ.
  3. Click on Schedule or Manage Appointment
  4. Follow the prompts for completing the required information and printing the registration form to take to the fingerprinting location.

After registering online, print your registration paperwork and go to your scheduled appointment.

As new adult volunteers are recruited, units are asked to provide this updated information to those volunteers.  We have also updated our Pennsylvania Act 15 website to reflect this new information.  Thank you!
