ScoutReach Program Coordinator
The Pennsylvania Dutch Council, Boy Scouts of America is hiring a Program Coordinator to provide leadership to the ScoutReach Program serving children & families in Lebanon County.
- Part-time hours Monday -Thursday, Friday and weekends as needed.
- Must have current Act 15 clearances or able to pass background checks (State Police, FBI & Pa Child Abuse)
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Enjoy working with children: boys & girls – K5-5th
- Should be organized, self-motivated and a team player.

JOB TITLE: ScoutReach Program Coordinator

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Execute high quality Scouting programs at sites/schools located in underserved communities in accordance with thePennsylvania Dutch Council’s Mission Statement

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Under the direction of the ScoutReach Director, provide leadership to your designated service area and supervise the ScoutReach Program. Hire, train and support the ScoutReach Program staff to ensure a quality program is delivered to the community. A passion for helping young people develop into responsible adults and a high comfort-level for working directly with children and families are essential skills for this position. Implement the Scouting Program in accordance with the Primary Areas of Focus -Recruitment of Scouts – Cub Scout Program Planning – Advancement of Cub Scouts toward their
badge of rank – Retention of Cub Scouts in the program and Transition eligible Scouts to Scouts BSA. Develop, lesson plans and activities that are age appropriate for Scouts and follow the Cub Scout curriculum.
MINOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in scheduled or called meetings.
Complete all necessary trainings to support program planning. Serve as an ambassador of the Scouting program.
Complete all assigned paperwork to ensure compliance with Council policies and procedures.
Complete other work-related duties as assigned by ScoutReach Director
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
Education:
High School diploma, College Education a plus
Scouting background helpful but not required.
Experience:
Youth oriented have ability to work well with children.
Should be organized, self-motivated and a team player.
Must be 21+
Must be able to multitask.
Must be available Monday to Thursday, Friday and weekends as needed.
Bilingual Welcome
Must have reliable transportation.
Must have current clearances or ability to pass background checks.

Scoutreach Program Coordinator Job Description
Part time ScoutReach Program Assistant
“Our goal is to prepare youth for a Lifetime; a lifetime of leadership, a lifetime of community service, and a lifetime of helping those in need.”
The Pennsylvania Dutch Council’s ScoutReach program involves urban youth and families in traditional, year round Scouting programs that develop positive self-esteem, character, leadership, and ethical behaviors in participants. Individual youths (both Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts) meet weekly to participate in monthly Scouting themes and activities. Summer opportunities include a six-week Summer Scouting program for boys ages 7 to 18, Cub Scout Day and Resident camp and Boy Scout Resident camp.
Description
Program Assistants are the backbone of our ScoutReach program. They are the face of Scouting in the schools, churches, and community centers where we hold our programs. With guidance from our more experienced Scouting Professionals you will learn the core components of the Scouting program and its values, and teach those values to the young scouts using creative, age appropriate activities. You will work with another Program Assistant to create a set of programs that keep the children active, engaged, and excited to be involved with Scouting!
Minimum Qualifications
In order to meet the minimum qualifications for this position, applicants should be:
- Interested in working with children between the ages of 7 and 10.
- Creative, and able to create ideas for programs and activities according to BSA guidelines.
- Organized, and able to keep track of multiple program areas with various timeframes.
- Punctual, and have strong time management skills.
- Reliable and able to secure transport to different program areas at many different schools, churches, and community centers in the Lancaster area.
- Able to pass a comprehensive background check.
- Able to attend any required training and update meetings.
Desired Qualifications
In order to meet the desired qualifications for this position, applicants should be:
- Experienced, and have some basic knowledge of BSA programs or childcare.
- Interested in careers in the areas of Scouting or childcare.
- Active in their communities.
- Committed to the values and principles of the Boy Scouts of America.
