HEATED LODGES – We have three winterized lodges, heated with woodstoves and equipped with bunks & mattresses, and propane cook stoves. Frost-free hydrants are in operation for year-round water. Lodges can accommodate 22-40 persons. See below for descriptions of the buildings available to rent at Bashore.
ADIRONDACK SHELTERS – We have two campsites with 3-sided Adirondack shelters. Great for winter camping, they keep you protected from the elements. Wooden floors help insulate form the cold ground. No cots are provided. Cost $70 for a weekend
TENT SITES – There are 9 established tent sites throughout camp, as well as several primitive sites located along our trail system on Blue Mountain. Cost $40 for a weekend

If your unit has qualified Range Safety Officers and Instructors, you may be able to rent the shooting ranges at Bashore. Ranges are rented in 2 hour blocks and rental fees include the use of firearms/bows, personal safety equipment, and other range equipment. Targets and ammunition are the responsibility of the renting group. Currently, Pennsylvania Dutch Council does not provide credentialed range staff.

C.O.P.E & Climbing Programs at Bashore
While at Bashore, your unit could participate in a climbing experience or a low or high COPE experience. COPE is an excellent way for your Scouts to develop their teamwork, communication, and leadership skills. Programs must be requested at least two months prior to attendance using the applications listed below so qualified instructors can be arranged. All COPE & Climbing participants must bring a signed COPE/Climbing Hold Harmless form or they will not be able to participate.
Campfire/Firewood Policy
CAMPFIRES / FIREWOOD: Campfires may be built in any established fire ring or fireplace. Do not move fire rings or build new ones without permission of Campmaster or Camp Ranger. Do not bring in outside firewood. Firewood is provided at the lodges and is to be used in lodge wood stoves only. The group will be responsible to replenish the firewood inside the building, using wood provided in the outside wood shed before leaving camp. There is an ample supply of firewood in the surrounding woods. Any fallen timber may be cut up and utilized as needed. Any group that cuts down or damages live or standing timber will be held financially responsible. There is also a supply of wood available to refill the firewood boxes through coordination with the Camp Ranger. The use of chainsaws is restricted to operators who are at least 21 years old and have successfully completed the BSA Chainsaw Safety Training Class and are pre-approved by the Camp Ranger. Please observe fire safety rules at all times – never leave fires unattended. Certain weather conditions (high winds or drought) may prohibit or limit fires in camp; you will be notified by the Campmaster or Camp Ranger if such conditions exist.
