Subject: Council Annual Recognition Dinner August 19th, 2020
As you read this, I hope you are happy and healthy in this everchanging world of COVID-19. Most of you know that we have already postponed our annual recognition dinner from this past spring to August. We thought we would have been able to flatten the curve and returned to some level of normal by now.
Such as it is, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and specifically Governor Wolf has stated that all indoor gatherings of more than 25 are prohibited.
We were hopeful that this might change, but it does not appear that the timing of the recognition dinner and the restrictions we will follow will allow the annual recognition dinner to happen. We are cancelling the annual recognition dinner.
Our Eagle Scout class of 2019 is an amazing group of young people and they have contributed mightily to our community. Our 2020 Silver Beaver recipients are an example of how to give back and make your community better.
If you registered for the event, we will be refunding your registration fee. If you would please consider donating your event fee, we would greatly appreciate that. Please notify the council office by August 10th if you would like to donate your registration fee. Otherwise we will process the refunds for our August 15th check run.
The annual recognition committee will be meeting to determine the best way to celebrate the accomplishments of the 2019 Eagle Class as well as the 2020 Silver Beaver Class. We hope to be able to do this in a meaningful way this year, but as you know this is a bit out of our control.
