For more than 100 years, the BSA has helped instill values and skills in America’s youth that have transformed its members into leaders. We had the opportunity to hear from The Honorable Rex Tillerson, former US Secretary of State and a Distinguished Eagle Scout, about what Scouting has meant to him and his sons.

Watch the full clip of The Honorable Rex Tillerson, a proud BSA Parent, below:

“As I transitioned from childhood to youth to adulthood, Scouting is the only organization that … teaches citizenship and service to the community, and delivers it in a way that it actually becomes part of a child’s DNA… They grow up with it and it defines who they are going to be in the future.”

–  The Honorable Rex Tillerson, BSA National President (2010-2012)

We’d like to hear how Scouting has enriched the lives of your family and community. SHARE YOUR STORY today.

Best,
Laura
